How to use Branding Effectively in Your Client Gifts

Getting ready to send your brand new client a gift? Here is how to put your branding to work through your client gifts!

Welcoming clients into your brand and your business with a gift is a must for creative business owners! Gift-giving is a small but important investment to make in your overall client experience. By sending our clients a gift we are not just saying Thank You for working with me! We are also welcoming them into our brand. Enveloping your client’s senses to welcome them into your brand experience means using your branding effectively as a touchpoint within your client gift process.

As a creative business owner, you have more room to make your client gifts personal and to go the extra mile! Thoughtfully curated gifts for clients work to convey your brand’s message and mission. Tangible and non-tangible gifts (such as gift cards!) all become a touchpoint of your branding through the gifting process.

The gift you are giving to your client should be relevant to them and based on their interests and hobbies. Grabbing this information from your client on your intake questionnaire will be critical to your client’s gifting process. But the wrapping, stationery, and presentation of the gift are where you can use your branding effectively in your client gifts!

Do you typically send boxed gifts to your clients? Gift boxes are a great place to include your logo! Boxed gifts can also easily be elevated with the addition of a thank you card. Thank you cards are great to mail out to your clients with any size gift! Adding branded touches to a thank you card can be as easy as including your logo mark or an on-brand wax seal to close the envelope.

Looking to make your client gifts smaller but still use impactful branding? Here are two simple ways to add branding to your client gifts! First, use a length of ribbon with your logo mark on it. Second, use a branded return address label or stamp. If you need to purchase on-brand custom packaging, I highly recommend Elby Creative! Small gifts such as coffee mugs or candles can also be impactful by including the use of a brand accent color.

Is sending virtual gift cards to your client more on-brand for you? The language you use in your client gift process should be on-brand too! The copy and tone you use in your gift cards (and those thank you cards we mentioned earlier!) should be in your brand voice, while still carrying a personal message of thanks & welcome to your client.

Want to go the least time-consuming route for branding client gifts in your creative business? Pre-curated gifts from companies like Box Fox are amazing options! If you are purchasing from a company like Box Fox, choose the box and gift options that have similar color tones to your brand. Box Fox allows you to sort through their selections based on color. How easy is that to put together?!
